Brief
Envía Despensa was born out of a simple, powerful ambition: to make sending essential groceries to families in Mexico as easy as sending a text message. For millions of immigrants in the United States, supporting relatives back home is a vital act of care, but legacy shipping methods are slow, unreliable, and stressful. We designed a modern cross-border e-commerce platform that handles everything from payment security to local doorstep delivery in 3 to 5 business days, transforming a complex international logistics problem into a seamless, high-trust experience.
The design direction centers on empathy, clarity, and warmth. We chose a clean, spacious interface accented with a vibrant grocery-green primary color for freshness and soft peach tones for inviting user highlights. Our user experience philosophy is entirely guest-first: we eliminated upfront registration walls so customers can quickly build a cart and browse bundles. With a focus on high-legibility typography, friendly rounded corners, and supportive micro-interactions, the interface is designed to feel as welcoming and trustworthy as a local neighborhood market.

What we solved
Simplifying cross-border packaging logistics
Calculating shipping for a custom mix of grocery items was complex — different weights and volumes change courier rates. We built a smart bin-packing system into the checkout flow that automatically groups items into the most efficient boxes and instantly generates accurate rates for FedEx, DHL, and local carriers.
Creating a high-trust payment experience
Users need to feel completely secure entering card details for international deliveries, while still having access to local payment methods. We unified Stripe and PayPal into a single clean checkout, protecting every transaction with world-class security in a familiar interface.
Keeping senders and recipients connected
Senders in the US want peace of mind that their delivery arrived, while recipients in Mexico need to know when a package is coming. We connected real-time carrier webhooks to an automated notification system that dispatches tracking and delivery alerts via SMS, WhatsApp, and email to both parties.
